Othman Haddad
Founder of Swiss Sound Therapy

Formations certifiées et accompagnements puissants en sonothérapie – à Genève et en Suisse romande

Othman Haddad is the founder and Methodology Director of Swiss Sound Therapy, a professional sound therapy practice and training school based between Geneva and London.

Since 2012, he has worked with individuals, groups, organisations and practitioners internationally. His approach combines extensive therapeutic experience with an earlier career in systems engineering and programme management — bringing structure, observation and adaptability to a field that is often taught primarily through techniques.

From Systems Engineering to Human Facilitation

His earlier career included consulting work with Capgemini, programme test management for organisations including Royal Bank of Scotland, and establishing a testing department for Giunti Labs in Italy.

The Development of Swiss Sound Therapy

After beginning professional sound therapy work in 2012, Othman gradually became less interested in the idea that particular instruments automatically create particular outcomes.

What mattered more was understanding the person in front of him.

SST consequently developed around a simple principle: begin with the person and the purpose, not the instrument.

A gong, singing bowl, drum, voice, breathing practice or silence is therefore considered a possible delivery method. The practitioner first considers the person’s current situation, the intended direction and what function may be useful. The method is then selected, observed and adapted.

This way of working eventually developed into the structured SST methodology now used in individual work, therapeutic sound baths and professional practitioner training.

Professional Experience

Over more than a decade of full-time practice, Othman has worked with thousands of participants through individual sessions, professional training, corporate programmes, private retreats and group sound experiences.

His collaborations have included SHA Wellness Clinic, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, COS, Pret a Manger, Mind and other international organisations and private clients. He was invited as a Visiting Master at SHA Wellness Clinic in 2018 and 2019.

Since 2017, he has trained sound therapy practitioners, and SST now provides professional training in Geneva, including ASCA-accredited programmes.

A Personal Journey into Sound

Othman’s interest in therapeutic work also grew from his own long experience of chronic pain, stress and a search for greater self-understanding.

Over several decades he explored meditation, psychology, contemplative practices, sound and different approaches to consciousness. These experiences developed his curiosity about the relationship between attention, the body, perception and sound.

His personal exploration remains an important part of his understanding of human experience, while the professional methodology of Swiss Sound Therapy is deliberately structured around observation, responsible facilitation and clearly defined scope.

Current Direction

Today, Othman is increasingly focused on the methodology behind therapeutic and human-development journeys: how we understand where someone is starting, identify priorities, select appropriate interventions, observe what happens and adapt the journey over time.

Sound remains central to Swiss Sound Therapy, but the deeper work is listening — to the person, the process and what is actually needed.
